Thirubuvanam silk sarees are handwoven using pure silk and pure zari, and the special characteristic of these sarees is that the same yarn is used for both the weft and warp, resulting in a high degree of uniformity in lustre and thickness all over the sari.
These sarees are woven in the cauvery delta area of Thirubhuvanam near Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu
