Madisar Draping Iyer Style - learn how to drape a 10 yard or 9 yard saree in the classic madisar draping Iyer style as worn by Iyer Brahmins in Tamil Nadu, illustrated in steps and in the video below is Madisar Draping - Iyer Style.
1. Take inner end of saree and make four to five pleats. Place gathered pleats at centre back waist from left and bind with free end over it clockwise.
2. Bring free end-piece to centre front waist from left side.
3. Tie knot with upper border of free end-piece and inner wrapped layerat centre front waist.
4. Tuck in front drape mid-body at left waist
5. Similarly, tuck in right drape at right waist
6. Bring free end of sari front to back between the legs
7. Tuck it into centre back atleast 12 inches
8. Bring free end piece to left waist in front.
9. Wrap free end piece around waist clockwise and bring to front under left arm
10. Throw outer end-piece over right shoulder.
11. Outer end piece may be brought in front under left arm and tucked into right waist
